My Friday Five – Book Series I Need To Finish

So I’m trying out this new thing, it’s an attempt for me to get more posts out there without having to sacrifice on quality. So every Friday I will be doing My Friday Five, a list of five bookish related things with each week covering a different topic. So to start it off we have book series I need to finish so that I can fill myself with deep regret and hopefully motivation.

1. The Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige

Dorothy saved Oz, she was their hero and protector. But then she came back and now Oz’s saviour is their destroyer.

So I’m actually only one book away from finishing this series (YAY!) But I’m a little hesitant to pick it up because I honestly have no idea if I’m going to enjoy it or not. This series has been a little rocky since the first book and I’m worried that the conclusion will be a disaster.

2. The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

In a world where ash falls from the sky, and mist dominates the night, an evil clocks the land and stifles all life. The future of the empire rests on the shoulders of a troublemaker and his young apprentice, can they win, or will evil continue to conquer?

I read The Final Empire (the first book) so long ago and the second book has been sitting on my shelf for almost two years! What is wrong with me? I don’t know! I loved the first book but I think the size and complexity has scared me away, but I really do want to finish this series.

3. The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater

Blue comes from a family of psychics but doesn’t possess the sight herself. But then she sees the ghost of a boy who will die within the year, which means one of two things, either she killed him or loved him. And now along with that strange boy and his friends, she’s hunting down a Welsh king and watching the world turn upside down in front of her eyes.

Once again, I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I absolutely adored the first book but have just let the second sitting on my shelf. I think I need a doctor because clearly, I need help.

4. The Manus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series by Rick Riordan

Magnus’s life has been filled with trouble, but now his life is about to get even crazier. From fire giants, gods, doomsday and death, it’s all coming for him.

Sometimes time just ruins things, like having to wait for the second book. It sucks when you love the first book but then you wait a year, then you keep forgetting to buy it, and now you don’t even know what book the series is up to, I’ll get to it soon, I hope.

5. The Seraph Black series by Jane Washington

Seraph Black’s life is anything but safe, she lives in a violent home, works at a sleazy club and spends her life protecting her brother. But Seraph’s life changes when two new people come into her life, and two old ones become something she never expected. With secrets being kept, powers forming, and someone hunting her down, is her life about to get better, or worse?

I hate reading ebooks but for the Seraph Black series I will, it’s just a matter of remembering that I actually own them. I have three books to go and am excited to see where this addicting series leads (and the rest of Jane’s books). You can read my review of Charcoal Tears here.
