June Wrap Up – 2017

I have to start by apologizing for this incredibly late blog post and wrap up. It seems its hard to get motivated to write posts when you’re on vacation. But I’ll be home shortly so I’ll be writing and reading more very soon. I’m also aware that this wrap up is fairly small but June was hectic. Anyway, that’s enough excuses so here it is.

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter, book 5)
5/5 Stars

It’s been so long since I read this that the details of this book had completely flown from my mind. I know that this is my least favourite movie and a lot of people’s least favourite book so I wasn’t sure how’d it go. But it’s Harry Potter so it was still incredible, and I enjoyed it more than I thought. I know some people have some issues with book 5 but I didn’t feel the lack of action or enjoyment in this story. Yes, it’s a kind of filler book but I didn’t feel that at all.

2. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
4/5 Stars

I don’t have a great track record with contemporary’s, so I wasn’t sure how this would go. Most of these books tend to be a miss for me and I rarely love them. But this one hit the target just right. At first, I wasn’t sure but as we moved along the story I found myself stuck intently within the pages. It was everything you want in a perfect contemporary, addicting, cute, sad, and funny, with a little mix of mystery. Even if your like me and contemporary’s aren’t exactly your thing, I would still recommend giving this short but endearing book a go.

3. Dead Reckoning by Charlene Harris (Sookie Stackhouse, book 11)
3/5 Stars

I can’t believe I’ve read 11 of these books. I give them all three stars and they’re all fairly similar on the plot and enjoyment scale. And yet, every couple months I pick another one up. It’s been a long and slow race to the end of this series and I’ve almost reached the end. There’s just something about these books that has me going back for more.

So there’s my very short and late wrap up. Hopefully, you did better than I did in the month of June, let me know down below.
