May Wrap Up – 2017

I can’t believe it’s the end of May and that June is almost upon us. I’m not sure where the first half of the year has gone, it seems to have disappeared. May’s been a bit of a busy month with me finishing off the semester, hence the slow down of posts, overall I think it was still a pretty successful reading month.

1. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (A Court of Thorns and Roses, book 3)
5/5 Stars

It was my most anticipated book of the year. The third book in the series but a wrap up on our beloved main characters. A Court of Mist and Fury is my favourite book so I had high expectations but I also wasn’t sure if they could be met. A Court of Wings and Ruin was amazing and I loved it. But in saying that, it still wasn’t as good as Mist and Fury. But let’s face it, beating that would be almost impossible.

2. ALL Fall Down by Ally Carter (Embassy Row, Book 1)

3/5 Stars

All Fall Down was a light, easy and fast read. Overall I enjoyed it but there were some problems that stuck out thoroughly throughout the book. I do plan on getting to the rest of the series as I hope for more development through the next books, but it’s not currently high on my priorities.

3. Quinsey Wolfe’s Glass Vault by Candace Robinson (Glass Vault, book 1)
3/5 Stars

There’s not much to say that hasn’t already been said in my review. This book came so close to having a lower rating but the ending gave it a heavy push. I intend on reading the next one in hopes that the writing improves and I also really want to know what happens next.

4. The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (The Trials of Apollo, Book 1)

4/5 Stars

Jumping back into the Percy Jackson world was incredible and so much fun. We got to meet new characters and read from the perspective of a god (well former god). This isn’t my favourite Rick Riordan book, but as always, it’s still amazing.

5. The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan (The Trails of Apollo, book 2)

I haven’t actually finished this yet but I should finish it today or tomorrow (hopefully). I am enjoying it, but so far this series isn’t my favourite of Rick Riordan’s. That doesn’t mean it’s bad though, I mean there all incredible. But as there’s many books to come, I’m expecting it to only get better.
